We have an afternoon meeting booked for the last sunday in April at the Billy Bluelight again.
I don't like the room at the Billy very much - it is dreary and cold and unwelcoming. Does anyone know of a better alternative?
Does anyone know of other pubs etc in Norwich with a room to hire at a reasonable price? The room at the Billy is £15 for example.
Can anyone here book a room at UEA?

If it was the following weekend, ALUG would be 5 years old and we could give it a birthday party. That's the bank holiday weekend, so maybe everyone is away?
I'm sure there are some people from UEA on-list, but I don't know how room bookings have changed there.
I can give the UEA a try. Union house rooms are free but i may not be able to get it on that day, as it may of been booked already. Also i couldn't attend as i work on a Sunday, but this may not be a problem. I'll look into it on Monday. What times do you want? 12-4 right? Sorry its been a while since i went to a meeting.

Dennis, that would be great. 2-6ish would be better.
If you can't attend on a sunday and want to be there (and/or need to be there as the person who books the room) then maybe we should consider a saturday afternoon instead.1. Any comments, anyone?
If/when I have time I'd also like to check out some of the pubs that have wi-fi access. Perhaps we could get a room+access deal, for example.
2. Another thing that would be useful - someone, anyone - are some suggestions and offers for themes/talks/ etc.
For example, I would like an introduction to using PGP keys and signing, perhaps with a trusted-key-signing session included. One introduced, the key-signing could become a regular feature of meetings.
If/when I move to using GnuCash instead of the old dos program running under dosemu that I still use, I am willing to give a brief introduction some time, if there is any interest.
3. Looking further ahead, will there be some sort of national InstllFest day this year and if so, does anyone know when it is likely to be?
4. I am still thinking about summer barbecues :-)
5. Anniversary meeting as mentioned by Mark in another past.
Great idea and we can have the meeting any w/e that suits people. FWIW I expect to be away that w/e (May bank holiday) but that is not a reason not to have it.
STRAW POLL: How many people are/arenot interested in attending an ALUG birthday meeting in Norwich on the first w/e in May?

I'm happy with a Saturday. In fact, it would probably be slightly better for me.

I expect that's going to be common.
