Hi I had problems installing Kubuntu Edgy with the desktop CD as the PS2 keyboard did not function i.e. no keys worked. I tried the alternate install and was this installed until rebooting, still no keyboard. I have found that if I unplug all usb devices and then reboot, keyboard functions. I also had this problem with earlier versions of Etch. Does anybody know how to cure this, can find nothing on Ubuntu Forums, all other Linux Distros I have tried function O.K. on same system. Kind Regards-Nick Daniels
The only thing that springs to mind is turning off USB legacy support in your BIOS.

Hi Many thanks all, I did not think of looking in Bios, I have now turned off "enable usb keyboard support" and it seems O.K. When I had the trouble with Kubuntu, I grabbed the first disc available, Linux Mint (Edgy with codecs) and that installed O.K. until an update yesterday, and then the keyboard dissapeared again. I was blaming the distros, when it was the users fault. All fine after four reboots.
