Because they charge about ten quid if you turn up at the door without pre-booking. (or at least they did last year)

really ?? I've been going to network/which computer show for the last 10 years or so, they say every time "costs X if not pre booked". When I've turned up they hand out free tickets on the door... I've never been to a show where I have had to pay.. then again I've never been to linuxExpo so I can't vouch for that...

Well, last year I had to pay (well the company did) so if you want to be sure of not handing over beer vouchers I would reccomend registering.
