Hi
I use DropBox to backup my pictures. I have used it for years and think it is brilliant.
I sync my pictures folder across different machines including my iBook G3 and my XP partition on my ThinkPad. I had it also installed under Xubuntu on my ThinkPad, however I cannot get it to work under Ubuntu.
I installed the package from the Ubuntu Softwre Centre, that went fine. The first you run it it has to download the daemon and that is where it goes wrong. It is very slow downloading it and then it sits at 91% and doesnt move.
Any ideas? I tried Googling the problem but I couldn't find any answers.

Seems to be quite a bit of discussion on the Web about it. Googling for "ubuntu dropbox daemon download" turns up quite a few realted-looking results.

may be of some use.
Are you using wifi or wired ethernet (or some other internet connection method)? Do you ever have other problems with downloading files?
