I know you are all going to hate me for saying this but does it run on other OS's?! ;-) I would like to run it at uni here instead of seti until the www.climateprediction.com project starts
Is UEA involved in that one? Maybe ALUG should support it, if we can?

A friend of mine (Mr Thorne who MJR knows!) who is in the Climatic Research Unit knows one of the founders of the project and was trying to get people at UEA interested. That was some time ago though when they were beta testing using Linux. I have been waiting for it to be launched because it is a very worthwhile project - monte carlo simulations of climate models. I think an ALUG group should be formed when it starts. When I speak to Pete later I will ask him if he has any more details. Slightly off topic one amusing thing is I think BP might have offered to run it on their machines (I might be wrong)!

Ok, I would be up for supporting this but what would be really nice if they gave a talk at a UEA meeting on their project and also what they are doing with linux and the project.
Anyhow I will change my blocks output from Slashdot (or whatever team I am on) to Alug when (as Willaby pointed out) we know where the money goes!
