I've played with a few like kdevelop and all have there good points but are horrendous to get properly installed. If your up to it try Forte for Java from sun - its free and only needs the JDK installing first. The real bonus of it is if your forced to use W$ at work you can run it almost identically on that too which I have found means you dont have to retrain yourself every time you swap. Tom ps: its quite resource hungry
