If it's Free, you might be able to use one of the other sourceforge-code-based sites like savannah.gnu.org which are less overloaded, although sf is supposed to have good caching etc.

free as in BSD I think I want it to be able to be reused in commersial apps (My own) but dont expect any money for it, more a donation as it is to the linux world.
