Yes it does, if anyone knows of a free and easy (probably mutually exclusive in the windows world!) to use Windows client I'll change the reminder to reflect this.
All the more reason to concentrate on getting a working modem, and getting connected, using my linux box rather than my windows at home, then, I guess! I'm looking to swap my diamond non-linux for a US Robotics a friend has, just confirming it is supported model before i do it, though. Found a nice page http://members.tripod.co.uk/uk_radio_amateurs/modemlin.html that lists stuff. Jen.

have you taken a look at http://www.linmodems.org/ to make sure your current modem is perhaps not already supported?
