I have a co.uk domain name which is detagged and now due for renewal.
I understand from Nominet that I have to have the domain hosted before I can renew it and that if I renew via full member of Nominet it will cost me far less than the standard Nominet charge.
All I want is a holding page as I don't intend to actively use the domain at present. Can anyone in the know suggest a web hosting provider who would handle this inexpensively?

You need to get a registrar to take on the domain account and then get it retagged. This costs *at least* 25 quid.
Try 123-reg.co.uk -- they offer very simple hosting packages if all you want is a holding page and stuff.

The web page, after you go through a bazzillion forms, leaves you with a PDF to print, sign and mail off, AFAICT.
