Hi All the spam I receive is addressed to xyzy@freeserve.co.uk not as above I have configured Kmail pop filters to- If to contains xyzy-delete on server but it takes no notice. I basically do not want to download it -Is it me being stupid? Regards Nick

I doubt it. I am not sure about KMail filters, but maybe it has some sort of "debug log" or "connection log" that would explain this more? You could try a command-line tool called "popmail" with the same filter and see if that works for you.

AFAIK kmail does not have the option 'delete at server' for its normal pop filters as these are applied only to mail already downloaded. i use it for example to route all minor spam to a spam directory.
The only way I know in Kmail to stop mail before it is downloaded is in the account setting where you can set a 'filter messages greater than' value I set this to about 10K and anything greater than this is listed before mail is downloaded and you can elect to delete on server, read later or read now.

If people who would like to go to a meeting but can't get there under their own steam mention it some time before, it's possible that some kind Lugger might be able to pick said person up.
It might even encourage someone who would not otherwise have bothered to make the effort?
