Here's a neat way to trash your Debian installation. Use dselect to install and uninstall a few packages, when dselect warns you that you're about to uninstall the ncurses library just hit the return key (default answer is 'y'). Works a treat! :o( (I've also just realised that XFree86 is a pun on X386 - groan, never mind, I'll just keep banging the rocks together).
