I have installed TWiki on my Linux box and i works well and has got me writing stuff on the web that I'd otherwise not have done.
However I suspect that for quite a lot of what I am doing I am going to be the only user so all the 'co-operative' abilities of TWiki are wasted. What I find really useful are the simple ways to enter information into web pages and the simplicity of creating links within the Wiki.
Are there any alternatives out there that would be more suited to a single user developing [mostly text] web pages with lots of cross links? I'd like something that can be used remotely via the web but management etc. can be local (even command line).

Sort of answering my own question - has anyone used nvu? I saw it a while a go but it's now reached version 1.0 so should be reasonably stable. Has anyone used it? Is it anything more than a good HTML editor, i.e. does it make adding links to other pages on the same site easy, does it help with any sort of overview of your whole site?

Tiddly Wiki Mmmmmmm is also very very cool (and now extenable) and there are several variants, but I think the original is the best ;)

I'd appreciate a report/review after you've used it for a while. I find TWiki quite good for creating a structure because of the easy and straightforward way that it creates intra-site links. I'm interested in a tool for doing this part of site creation well, not just a good HTML writer.
