Quite a while back someone in the IRC channel expressed interest when I said I'd installed Ubuntu on my iBook and they wanted to know if you could use wireless networking. I can't remember who it was, sorry.
The answer (after a very quick Google), is no. I'm very disappointed about that. Apparently the necessary specifications haven't been released.
So, unless anyone knows otherwise, I guess the best we can do is pester Apple...

If you are talking about the Airport Extreme, Broadcom haven't released specs (Airport Extreme is a Broadcom chipset- I can't do lspci as I disconnected the card). There is a petition-online for this somewhere.
I ended up buying a Netgear WG111 USB- the hope is that this works painlessly with linux-wlan.org when it arrives.
The Airport is (according to google) supported by Linux, but is different physically to use in the newer G4 iBooks.
I ended up going down the Gentoo route, and the only issue I've had to think of are: Macromedia Flash (gplflash.sf.net is the best alternative so far) and Crossover for MS Office (but MOL _ maconlinux.net and the Mac version of Office work there).

I can confirm the original Airport card works fine, as my old iBook (366Mhz) has one, and it operated without problems at the last ALUG meeting, whilst running Debian.
