Apache: Is this a bad trick?

Any apache gurus on the list, I've been doing some site development, and rather than have to tweak all the addresses, I added 127.0.0.2 sitename to the /etc/hosts file and defined 127.0.0.2 as a virtual host. I don't know why, but I feel that's a bad thing to do: is it? Hiya! I can recommend Star Office. Sun sent me a CD last year - the installation ran perfectly. You could certainly put it on any 'users' desktop running on SuSE and fool them into thinking it was something from the Redmond (un)stable. Hi guys, Anyone know how, via .htaccess in htdocs/, to make *all* web requests return a specified document instead? I'm thinking of the occassions when I take a website (LNC) down to play with it and I want everyone to see a message in a file elsewhere, like htdocs/placeholder.html instead. Stupid X question

Hi, How do I configure X so that I can run software on a remote machine (eg cpca7) and view it on my linux machine? I realise that this is probably easy to fix, but I can't remember how to do it!
