This is the automated ALUG IRC meeting reminder sent to remind you that there is an IRC meeting tonight (Monday) at 8.00pm. Ubuntu opinions

Hi List, A friend of mine is trying out Ubuntu linux. I know there are some ALUG members who have tried Ubuntu and rave about it enthusiastically (you know who you are :-)) Anyway, I said I would ask what is so great about it and what the general opinion is and how it differs from, say, debian. Where do I find colour names?

Where can I find the file that lists the X colour names? E.g. where are things like 'grey90', 'magenta4' and 'blue3' defined? "The World Tonight": Brazil & OSS

Hi Folks, There was a neat item on "The World Tonight" tonight (Radio 4, Tue 31 May) regarding what looks like a very determined effort by Brazil to move to Open Source. 4.2.2 installation oddities

Some further oddities about my xfce-4.2.2 installation on Slackware:- The background doesn't cover all the background if you see what I mean. I have the background set to blue but the top cm. or so of the background is pale grey. Middle mouse button click on the background does bring up a menu, it's a menu of applications to go to, not one I've ever used. When I right click on the funny (not very useful) thing in the bottom right corner and select 'Properties' I get an error saying 'Xfce Settings Manager error: No such plugin "xfibx"'. Similarly when I right click on the task bar and select Properties I get a similar error saying 'Xfce Settings Manager error: No such plugin "xfce"' Why am I getting all these missing plugins? -- Chris Green (chris(a)areti.co.uk) "Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by incompetence."

Forcing "Return-Path:" in sendmail

Hi Folks, I want to find a way to *force* sendmail to include a specified "Return-Path:" header in mail it sends to a remote [E]SMTP server. Specifically: Return-Path: Ted.Harding(a)nessie.mcc.ac.uk rather than the header it computes automatically. Thanks for any suggestions!
