Copying files with a specific extension

I have a /var/www directory which is a local copy of my web site. I want to copy only the .html files together with any sub-directories that contain .html files (retaining the directory structure), together with their files, into another directory. I've tried various incantations involving 'find' and can only succeed in copying files from the base directory. If someone can suggest a way to do this it would be very much appreciated. Linux Motherboard Recommendations.

Hi guys, What are you recommendations on rock solid motherboard/cpu combos for linux? Thinking for server type setups onboard everything is ok as long as it's supported. c compiler - command not found

Hi, I am trying to compile a very simple C program but the commands I use are not working. eg $ gcc firstCProgram.c or $ cc firstCProgram.c bash: command gcc/cc not found I seem to have some sort of c compiler on my system in the directory /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-suse-linux/3.3.1/cc1 Am I right in thinking this is a c compiler that I can use to compile my C programs? If yes, then how can I set the path so that it will work from the command line whenever I want to compile? I'm using SuSE 9.0. If this is not a C compiler after all, please tell me so and I'll install one. Regards, -- Bye, Bryce.

Would the author of http://www.alug.org.uk/contrib/?ComparisonInEastAnglia like to at least add their name to the page, please? Distro Copying

List, Appreciate some advice. I've been asked to install a copy of SuSE and provide the necessary set-up of networking, Samba etc. I'll be doing this work in a contracting basis and was looking at installing the software and providing him with a copy of SuSE on a set of blank CDs so he has the original installation set. Question - can I burn a copy of the SuSE Linux Professional 8.2 CD set and give it to him, or will he need to purchase a copy of the software himself to be licenced? I will be paid to install and setup the box, but will make no money from the actual software itself. There appears to be no guidance on this matter on the distro box packaging. groff tutorial and problems

Does anyone know a good groff beginners tutorial, preferably including ms macros, that is online in simple html? The main groff distribution site at http://groff.ffii.org/ doesn't seem to link to one. Two particular problems: How to type pound signs? I use utf8, but pound signs don't come out, even with -Tutf8.
