Mozilla plug-ins

I've been able to activate my Java VM plug-in in Netscape, but can't seem to do this in Mozilla. I've checked www.mozilla.org, but it doesn't seem to have the info. Hi Folks I have received a question on burning bootable CDs under Windows. This is something I have never done...... I think the room in question has a number of small tables, so we can probably have some small talks on particular topics as well as the normal "kit rush". People who are interested in the talks can just sit down while the rest of them use kit on one edge of the room. Sounds OK? Owen, are you doing a talk? I'd quite like to talk to some people about the plans for Free Software in this country. What time shall we aim to start the talks at? 1430? I'm travelling from King's Lynn, as always, and probably setting off just after noon. If anyone reasonably near the main routes wants transport to/from, please email me privately. UPS - confused

Hi All, Can anyone explain to me what the difference is between using apcd and powerd? I'm trying to set up a smart UPS 700 . Seems that you have to run them in dumb mode, so I guess I can only get the box to shut down rather than reboot? Jenny.

I think you'll find other distributions do different things if you want to build it as a package. Some are more painful. Debian's is OK once you've done it a few times and you keep your revisions and flavours apart. > and is fakeroot a security hole ?? Dave Crease - Biographical notes!

I have no serious or professional use for Linux, I just like the idea of a free operating system and software that is in the hands of the users. As this may indicate I am an old hippy who graduated in Chemistry in the 1960s, taught at various levels for many years and at the age of 59 have ended up as the Brewing Manager at Woodforde's Brewery. I've been using computers since the 1960's starting with a Stantec Zebra but my knowledge of them is very fragmented. I have Redhat7 on a AMD Athlon, tucked away in a partition so that my wife can use the Windows stuff. I have no special interests in using Linux. I am just intrigued by the whole thing. When and where is the next meeting, please? Dave Crease

Okay, Here goes. I use Debian 2.2r4 (from linux123.co.uk, don't think i'll use them again, my 2.2r2 cheeplinux.com CDs are much prettier) on both my desktop and laptop computers. I've upgraded both to a 2.4.X kernel to provide better support for things like CD writers and USB. The desktop is a custom built AMD K6 2-400 w/128mb RAM and the rest. The laptop is a Toshiba Satelite 4070CDT. Very proud of getting all the hardware in my laptop working, including the Lucent winmodem and USB ports!
