Compaq Proliant 6500

Anyone ever installed Linux on a 6500 Proliant, just my work are "disposing" of a few so I picked one up, with external RAID thingy... Just wondering if it's been done by anyone here? I'll bring it along to the next ALUG meet (if I can get it back into my car without doing myself and injury).... Simon

On most (all?) Linux systems, calling halt from a non-zero runlevel will invoke "shutdown -h now", but don't *ever* try that on another system. "telinit 0" is probably another synonym. -- MJR

Funnily enough, that's what my box says- "Maintenance Mode", but it *DOES* shut down as well, using: shutdown -h now So, thanks NuTTer, you were totally correct.
