ALUG-IRC becomes a regular event

Well, at ALUG-40 today, everyone there thought that making the IRC meetings a regular event was a good idea, so please join us online at 2000 (8pm) each Monday evening, on OpenProjects IRC. Server names include hogan.openprojects.net, eu.openprojects.net and irc.linux.com, but make sure to use port 8001. IRC clients include epic4, BitchX (console), kirc, kvirc (KDE), x-chat, yagirc (gnome), tkirc and netplug (Tcl/Tk) amongst many others. ALUG-IRC3 -- The Venue Finder

I regret to say that I won't be able to be online for this week's IRC meeting, as I'll be somewhere with no net connection until Tuesday. If someone could keep a log and send me the file, I'll process it and post it up as before. The last two IRC meets have mainly concentrated on the website. However, I think that's now under control, so it would be more useful if this week's meeting could try to find us a venue for September's meeting ;-) We're really stuck with UEA, being between arrivals weekend and fresher's weekend, so anywhere with tables, electricity and possibly a nearby bar would be welcome. -- MJR

All, So what kind of capacity does the meeting require? Does the venue require a connection to the outside world? Is there a group defining group config before the event such as DHCP setup etc. to save time on the day. Is there an agenda, other than fix web site? What is the duration of the meeting? A norwich or north norfolk meeting is good for me, does anyone else have a preference? Yes. Look, everyone, *PLEASE* trim your messages to only include the part of the message that relates to your reply, as it's a waste of bandwidth, space, time, etc. Generally, including the quote *before* your reply is nice, too. Future blatent abuse will get a quiet request, then a boot (probably to the clueless mailing list if I can find it again). Harsh, but we need to keep the list operating reasonably. I don't know what the world's coming to -- seldom a week goes by on my main work email list without the list admin reposting the rules and intro because of abuses.
