Any recommendations about usb phones that work on linux? Its for skype. I know you can get cordless dual phones that plug into the router, and presumably these are risk free, but they're £80 or so, which is a bit much....

The one I tried a while ago appeared as a generic USB audio device for the speaker and microphone which I just pointed the Skype audio configuration at and then the keypad was a generic human interface device that "pressed" the relevant keys. There was however an issue with window focus for making calls. Sorry don't remember the name of it and I have given it away now..but it was some cheap unbranded thing.
