David is particularly interested in any events to do with Martlesham Heath. Do we have current ALUG subscribers who could help him with this?

Dear Lugmasters,
I am a doctoral student in Economic & Social History, and am writing my dissertation on the history of free software. I am currently compiling a short history of free software use and development in the UK, particularly in higher education, for a separate project that will be published online. The report will go on the website, which has a policy of putting an open license on all documentation, and that anyone can contact them to discuss alternative licensing if they need it.
Could folks suggest events or areas of interest that I should include? I am particularly interested in free software use and development in higher education, but would like to include everything that's important. I'm interested in history going back as far as the 1950s.
