Hopefully you saw my original E-mail outlining our plans for a UK leafletting day to raise awareness about the DMCA, the EUCD and the case of Dmitry Sklyarov, based on the issue of the copy-protected CDs currently being released into this country. We feel that not only is this something that the public should be aware of (nearly everybody uses CDs), but also that this is a way for them to start to understand what the DMCA/EUCD issue is all about:
Our original leafletting day was cancelled due to the WTC disaster, but we have now set a new date - Saturday 7th October. At the very least, please consider checking out the background to this campaign on the link below. In brief, I would recommend you try extracting a track or two out of *any* new CD you buy, even if you aren't going to need it in MP3 format immediately, just to be sure.
