3d nvidia graphics support

I'm using SuSE 9 and my PC has an nVidia MX400 graphics card. My system doesn't have 3d graphics hardware support. This is because SuSE has stopped shipping with this feature, but the manual says you can still download this feature. But I've been to the nvidia site and can't find a driver that will do the job. Does anyone know what to do to get 3d graphics support for SuSE 9? -- Bye, Bryce.

ALUG meeting in Norwich on sunday

ALUG SUNDAY MEETING Next meeting in Norwich this coming weekend on sunday 25th January. 2pm onwards in the Nelson Room at The Billy Blue Light pub, Hall Road, Norwich. The Billy is at the city end of Hall road and is not far from the bus station, just off the inner ring road. If coming north up the A140, Hall road is the first right just after the first traffic lights off the A47. Keep going right to the end as Hall Road is long. Detailed info including directions and a streetmap are on the website here: http://www.alug.org.uk/venues/bbl.html There is no specific topic or talk planned. Bring kit as this is a general ALUG meet for installation, configuration and sunday-afternoon-in-a-pub socialising :-) Bring extension leads etc if power is required as I don't yet know what sockets etc are available. Room hire is £15 so please bring a bit of spare change towards the costs. OTHER PLANNED MEETINGS Next Norwich sunday meeting is currently planned for the end of April 2004. Current plans are to hold a full ALUG sunday meeting every three months. Norwich monthly meetings continue on the second thursday of the month and the current venue is the Forum coffee bar, 8pm. RPM resource for SuSE users

In case other SuSE users haven't seen it, there's a very good SuSE-only RPM resource at http://packman.links2linux.org/ I've found it particularly useful for multimedia applications and GUI front-ends. Such as dvd:rip and kino, the latter being a video editor I found impossible to compile from source. -- GT

Just out of interest for what reasons was it not suitable? Adam ................ We thought it was unsuitable because of load music, very poor lighting (too dark), and finally poor or unsuitable seating and general layout of seating. I think it would be difficult to get everyone around one table, and you can't really bring tables together like you can at the Forum Bar to expand seating as more people arrive. But importantly the atmosphere was just completely wrong for a meeting (of alug). Just a thought. We left the Firkin pub pretty quickly and went across the road to the City Gate Weatherspoon pub. It has the right atmosphere for a meeting in my opinion. The seating and lighting are very good and tables can be brought together. There is no music but the place has a lively congenial atmosphere. As an added bonus you can get a curry if you're hungry. -- Bye, Bryce.

Finding website owners

Is it possible to find the name of the owner of a .com domain? I tried whois on internic but that only shows the registraar. The domain I'm interested in is 01508broadband.com which is apparently a campaign for our local exchange (which is great) but has no named contact (which is puzzling). Thoughts on dial-up ISPs?

Does anyone on here still use dial-up ISPs? I've been using Onetel but I'd like to give them the Big 'E', so I've been looking out for a replacement. Any ideas? I happened across an outfit called Highstream and they actually acknowledge the existence of Linux, which seems somewhat unusual. Has anyone ever heard of them? Thanks for any ideas! Gerald. P.S. Before anyone asks: I live in the half of the Martlesham Heath estate that CAN'T get broadband....

Brett Parker and I visited the Reindeer (or Finesko & Firkin) pub on Thursday evening this week to see what it was like as an alternative venue to the Forum Bar. In our opinion the Reindeer is totally unsuitable and could not be used to host a meeting of alug. In our humble opinion it would be far better to continue using the Forum Bar. -- Bye, Bryce.
