Brett/Chris Thanks for the warm welcome and introductions.. Ive just been using Cygwin for a week or so. Took me about three weeks and the added patience of a saint in respect of help from an IT guy who does our web site stuff for us. In itself it proves to be pretty stable but the NT machine it is running on is in the process of a nervous breakdown. We run a Pervasive database tool on that machine as well as standard FTP server .. Hi Everyone, I've just had NTL broadband installed and I'm racking my brains trying figure out how to get dhcpcd working (and there's been much rolling of eyes and nashing of teeth). Console switching stopped working - update (No replies anyway :-(

Dumpster Diving for hardware

One of my favorite pastimes when i was living in the US was stopping at piles of junk by the side of the road and picking up other peoples cast off equipment for free. Many a systems has been picked up dusted off, given a new life by tux and sold on at a profit. Since i moved backto the Yarmouth though the pickings have been decidely slim. Anyone know anywhere in the region where equipment is reguarly dumped? Any stories of great finds?
