I'm just panicking on two things really: a decent disclaimer and people. If anyone has thoughts on the former, please email me overnight so I can type it up, else I'll crib from wherever ;-) Oh, and I've a slight problem with debian CDs, so although I have images and should have more blanks tomorrow, if people are prepared to burn on the day, it would be a great help. -- MJR

The Title says it all I think, "When is next meeting and where is the next meeting" anyway I have yet to go to one of your meetings, now I am out of manchester I thought I should join my local linux users group. I have been using Linux since early 1998 but with no previous UNIX experiance still feel a little bit of a begginer, I am looking to get some C++/C work in UNIX as I have had my fill os Microsoft windows programming (Delphi was fine just the OS was a biit limited). I am currently writing my own Delphi Like classes in C++ for a project to get me familier with the language. Chears Owen S.

PPC Linux stuff for use on a Tivo

Hi, Does anybody know of a small Linux distro that will run on PPC processors? I only need small sections from it like gcc and perl. Reason being, I have a Tivo and I want to add some more functions to it, eg get it to generate a web page that tells me what it's recorded. We've just moved from Martyn's bleeding-edge.net server to a drake.org.uk one and it's taking a while to update DNS, it seems. -- MJR

Re.Poster: sorry a bit patchy, I'm not much good at that kind of stuff. Plus I'm in a hurry after being bored for ages - I sit here helplessly month after month having various "upgrades" done to my computer whether I want them or not....from win95 to Win98 to WinME, then Office 97 up to Office2000 which has just been installed and so far i am unable to administer my own database and it all seems to be operating at the speed of a slug. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. The installation has a GUI like a 5yr old's rendition of cubism. Needless to say we have a winNT server, which needless to say crashes on a regular basis. The word "linux" brings a sneer to the lips of the administrators, however, and I have to conduct my experiments in a furtive corner of my office. Rant over, back to work (if I can get anything to, that is...) Jen. PS.Glad u like cd, David. Turn up the bass.
