any free seats for Norwich on Sunday please??

(i'm sending this again as it was on HTMl format and it was blocked..sorry:--) Ipswich----->Norwich for Linux day on 29'th?? If someone still got space on their cars for a poor student i would be most gratefull :--) I can bring 2 CD fresh Mandrake 8.0, a 10/100 Nic, a 5 port 10BaseT hub, 2 x cables and a Elsa external 56K modem. If someone is on dial-up 56K and is a Mandrake user and would like a Installation Mandrake CD , i'll burn it for them. cheers CEPi Ipswich

YAC Phone Number

Ok people ALUG now has a YAC phone number which can be redirected to aid future events the numbers is 07092012026 but hasn't be redirected anywhere yet if the main contact for the groups would like to email me privately I will give them the pin number etc for the phone number. I hereby delurk, and notify you all of my capabilities: Nearly competent with Redhat/Mandrake Pure of knowledge of every other Linux distro Demon of programming; Perl, PHP, C, C++, Java, blah blah. More to the point, I'm studying CompSci at UEA and therefore know the place pretty well. If you want to know stuff about the venue, I can probably help. If I ever turn up to IRC, it will be as 'lxs' or possibly 'nuyen'. POTD (problem of the day): how the mail system works. There seems to be a lot of different options, which makes everything very confusing for a student of little brain. Mandrake automatically runs postfix, which would be fine, except I don't know what I need to set where so that it's magic happens. Eg what should I call my localhost.localdomain, since I connect via PPP? Incidentally, POYday was that when I dial with kppp, I get a message saying interface ppp0 not defined. But web works, so I +/- decided not to push my luck. POTDBT (anyone get it?) was installing X402/3 so I can get hardware OpenGL. Considering giving up totally as every time I try xdm/kdm get f*d. Help with any of the above gratefully received. Alexis ps.
