Linux replacement for NetMeeting

Hi, I do not see my brother much. As he has recently brought himself his first computer I am getting him a webcam for Christmas. I would therefore like to get my PC set up and ready for the expected excited phone call and our proposed live video linkup on Christmas Day - sorry guys but this project's deadline is not negotiable ;-) My brother (who is very new to computers) will be using the webcam bundled "Microsoft NetMeeting" on his Windows only PC at his end. Will I have to also boot into Windows and use NetMeeting my end or is there a Linux equivalent (I run Debian 3.0) I can use? I also have a more computer literate friend who lives some distance away from me who runs Linux like myself. Is there a NetMeeting type program (even if it is not compatible with NetMeeting itself) which two remote Linux users can use to videoconference over the net? TIA, Ian.

(Hold down CTL + ALT + F1 if you are stuck on the blank Xwindow screen, this will bring you to a log-in console on tty1, then, as root, type XF86Setup). Jen.

Hello everyone, I have joined the list not long ago. My name is Francesco, foreign student here in the UK. I am a Linux newbie I must say, and I am desperately trying to do away with M$... I had Woody installed until a few days back on my second HDD and reinstalled it today after some serious hardware problems(all was working fine anyway until then). I have made a mistake during installation at basically "monitor setup" stage so now when the X server starts (at the login screen) nothing is displayed and the monitor goes blind just giving some frequency values and a NOT SUPPORTED message (I figured the selected resolution and frequency match cannot be handled my thge stupid monitor..). RH 7.3 Install

Hi Guys, After downloading RH7.3 and conducted a linux mediacheck when at partitioning stage I receive the following error "Partition table on device sda was unreadable. Initialize this drive Yes/No." By selecting Yes the following error occured "no valid devices were found to create new filesystems". Thus the system kills sessions and reboots. By checking system messages (ctrl+alt+F4) at various points I can determine that the SCSI card and devices where detected. Though after receiving the final error messege the following system message appears a number of time "parity error detected in data-in phase". Please bear in mind this machine has been running SuSe without any difficulties. Machine Spec: Supermicro P6SBU 196MB Onboard AIC-7890 SCSI ULTRA2/LVD Seagate 9GB LVD Any help would be great as I am trying to learn this sh*t. Urgent Help

Hi Guys, Hope you all had fun yesterday, unfortunately I was unable to attend due to family constraints. I have just been approached with a job that requires Redhat 7.x experience, I have used Redhat many moons ago and the grey cells are a bit clouded, as many of you know I use SuSe. So what is the best way I can learn Redhat in the next few days i.e. book recommendations with good references to administration for corporate networks ... The book also needs basics as well.
