I have a new installation of Deb 2.2r3. I wish to move it up to Woody (testing) via good old ftp. I have added the line: APT: :Default-Release "testing"; to my apt.conf file. I have used netselect to get the quickest ftp server to me, which is ftp.demon.co.uk. What exactly do I need to put on my sources.list file? When I do apt-get dist-upgrade I downloaded ssh and that was all? ADSL questions

Hi, I have decieded to take the plunge and get ADSL. What I want to know is , has anybody managed to get the PPPoATM module for PPPD to compile? I've tried and can't make the _______ (insert your own expletive here) work. I was wondering about getting the Zyxel Prestiege 645R ADSL router, as that supports PPPoE and I have software for that. Will this do PPPoE to PPPoATM translation? I couldn't find any usefull information on their website. I want to continue using my existing Linux machine as a firewall, as I also want to be able to access it from certain restricted site. What ADSL hardware do you use, and have you made it work with Linux, and how? Having tried most of the available clients I can recommend Pegasus. Far more stable than Eudora (which has been known to corrupt active directory), All the features that you could possibly wish for and supports multiple clients either on one machine or can be configured for a network. Best of all, totally free!

Latest Debian CD's for Installdays

Since Debian 3 may or may not be out by June 9th- will anyone have the latest debian CD's (2.2r6?) there? I have just got my USB CD-Writer to work in linux (w00t!), hotpluggable and all (yay!), so I can write CD's at the event if peeps want em. Really off topic!

I know this is really off topic but please pander to my whim. Does anybody know of a good free (preferably open source or gpl'd) secure email client for Windows 2k/xp? I'm sick to death of the various flavours of Outlook/OE etc. It would be nice to be able to download mail when I *have* to use Windows without always worring about the gaping holes in security. -- Cheers, BJ

I'd like to come along to this. I've been trying to install Debian onto my laptop. I've partioned the disk ok and can dual-boot it and got Linux installed as far as the basics, but can't get X to install. So I need help. Do you need to know anything else from me in the meantime? David Robinson

Disassembler

Does anyone know of a good X86 disassembler that recognises DOS .exe file formats? I need to look at a DOS TSR to try to get sound working on my Linux box. TIA Ian

Maybe you SuSE vets could cast some light here ... I can't get SuSE to install using ReiserFS partitions. Everytime, at some point during the package copying process the install hangs - I've seen other people report the problem but haven't seen any fixes/explanations.
