Weekly IRC reminder

This is the automated ALUG IRC meeting reminder sent to remind you that there is an IRC meeting tonight (Monday) at 8.00pm. The meeting takes place on the irc server irc.alug.org.uk in the #alug channel. Most IRC clients should allow you to get there with the commands "/server irc.alug.org.uk" and "/join #alug". IMAP server setup

I want to centralise the storing of my email for my 5 machine LAN. So, after a little online research, I found setting up an IMAP server appeared to be the answer. However, following further investigation, I can't find any tutorials to assist me in doing this. What I want to do is: * Collect email from multiple pop3 addresses * Check email for viruses and automatically bounce virus infected emails * Filter out junk mail into a 'checking' account * Filter email into different IMAP accounts based on to: from: subject:, etc * Further filter the email going into the IMAP account into certain directories (this is a client or server issue?) * Read email on several machines (using IMAP-compatible client) * Reply to, forward to different IMAP accounts, etc What the easiest way to achieve this? Furthermore, in contrasting POP3 and IMAP, I have the following issues: * Are outgoing messages for an IMAP account stored with the IMAP account, or on the local machine? * What method is used for sending the email to the outside world for IMAP? Currently I download from POP3 and send via my ISP's SMTP server. * As the email is stored centrally, I would assume global searching is straight forward. java bug problem

Hi list, I've just installed j2re1.3 on a box running debian potato with 2.2.19 and it won't run, brings up the error code 4F530E43505002CC http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4512651.html I've installed the same package in the same way (apt-get) on a second box running the same software. This one runs the same files just fine. Google has many reports of this problem but no answers. I realise this is a feeble and flimsy posting from which I expect to have someone miraculously whisk up a solution, but can anyone shed any light? I can try to capture the output of the error report if it is useful. Thanks, Jenny.

The error was between chair and keyboard. I had not altered the $FILEPATH variable in one of the files for its new location, which was what was making it grumble. Meeting facilities for members with disabilities

Would it be useful if we indicated the ease of access at the various meeting venues for any members with disabilities? For example at Stalham the meeting room is one the 1st floor but there is a stair lift. There are also suitable toilet facilities on the same floor as the meeting room. As far as I'm aware all the doors are standard width (some are double doors) so presumably should be able to accommodate wheelchairs. Something else that might be of help is a list of people who would be willing to provide transport (assuming ordinary cars etc are suitable) for people who might not normally be able to attend (perhaps a web page link off of the Meetings page?) meetings. Artwork Needed

Are there any graphic artist types out there who can put together some artwork for the labels and jewel cases for the Debian CDs (1 to 7) and for Knoppix? There are some samples on the Debian site for jewel cases for the 1st CD. It would be nice to have something on the labels that said the CDs were copied by an ALUG member. Microsoft wireless desktop.

Has anyone successfully got the Microsoft Wireless Desktop keyboard and mouse working with Linux?
