GRAN PM 1.6 http://freshmeat.net/releases/93584/ GRAN PM is Web-based project management software, which includes a task management system, bug tracking software, and employee timesheet tracking. Although it's not strictly GPL, an interesting bit of software if only because they're trying to break out of the Windows/Mac model. I'm not that sure they've succeeded. lm_sensors, sensord and temperatures

I have, at last, managed to get lm_sensors working on my Tyan Thunder K7 dual processor board and I am monitoring the results with Gkrellm. This gives me two levels of warning. (1) Chips are getting hot - sound the alarm and (2) Turn the thing off before it cooks. Can anyone tell me what temperature values I should set for these and ditto for the chassis temperature? As I have also managed to get this machine to turn itself off after shutting down (shutdown -h now) I can also set Gkrellm to activate this at the higher temperature of the two levels. I can also run sensord to log temperature levels but have had to disable it because it keeps logging a chassis intrusion detection alarm. Although the board has a header for this it is not connected. Anyone know a way of disabling this? Many thanks Barry Samuels

E-Mail Chess

Are there any chess players out there? I'm looking for software that supports the playing of chess games via e-mail. There's quite a list on Sourceforge and Freshmeat. Linux Standard Base Specification

I've just been reading a Newsforge article about the above <http://newsvac.newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=02/08/16/1952202> and wondered if anyone has taken the time to read through the formal specification for the above? Any old harddrives?

I'm putting together a scratch system for a friend of mine with somewhat limited means. To date I've got everything but a hard drive. Has anyone got an old 2Gb, 3Gb or similar sized hard drive going spare? (and before you ask, yes it will have GNU/Linux as one of the boot options, depending on the size of the disk, but I'm also looking at supplying a Knoppix CD) Keith ____________ This ain't no technological breakdown, this is the Road to Hell.
