I'm far more of a vi-hater than an Emacs user, I think. The one reason to learn vi is that it is on every system. How the hell they got it into the standard is beyond me. That anyone uses it when there's a choice is incredible.
Oh well looks like Mark is going to be found dead in the next couple of weeks where the circumstances surrounding his death will be suspicious. Of course the enquiry into this will prove inconclusive, but there will be fears raised that a group of cultists who are in some way related to the emacs hating group "The Vi lovers" may have put pressure onto both the police and others who were involved in the investigation of this mysterious case to return an inconclusive verdict.

As an aside I'm totally impartial in this conflict coz I can't understand either of the buggers so I'll stick with Pico or Kwrite for now.
Can I recommend nano as a pico replacement? It's properly GPL and has extra knobs and twiddly bits - looks like pico in general though.
Or joe is quite a nice text editor too. I used it before I saw the light and switched to vim.
