errrm, I un-nominate myself as I don't even know if I'll be in the UK for
the next meeting... OK, I nominate Jo ;-) How about everyone who can make the next meeting submit their names over the next week, we compile a list similar to IRC method, and work from there? We'd need to post this on main alug list, of course. jen-virgo

All,
I am in the market for a set of speakers. I want a small pair of speakers suitable for use as rear surrounds and also as front Hi-Fi speakers. I'm looking for a small 70W ish set which Can be mounted on wall or shelf.
So I have a couple of questions.
1) I currently have a set of Kef Coda 7's which I am very happy with, is it worth staying homegenous and going for another (smaller) set of Kef speakers, the Q series look quite nice and compact.
or
2) is it worth gong heterogenous and getting say a small set of Missions i.e.?
3) Any advice or recommendations?
Thanks
D

I've always heard good things about Coda speakers.

Personally, I don't like Missions as they are all wooden midrange and bass and very little finesse.
However, as usual with any matters hi-fi, take your ears along to the shop and *listen* to some!! Just do it in the morning so you're fresh, and don't be blown away by louder volumes than you normally listen to...

They are very nice, let down by my crap Amp, I will eventually build a nice new amp which will be 19" rack mounted 150watt per channel 6 channel amp.!

Good idea.
As for volume I Don't like it unless the bass rattles the windows and I can hear the top end vibrating my sun glasses! I especally like track 7 on "the final cut" which when played load vibrates every window in the house and got visits from the neighbours to see what had just exploded!
Thanks
