Hmmmmm, even better. Microsoft products are *far* better than anything that the crappy unix and open source communitys could produce. I would of course use Microsoft products exclusively but as I am poor I can't afford to buy this superior software so am stuck with these crap open source things. I would really like to use Microsoft as the applications and capabilitys of the systems far exceed that of *any* other companys products ever....
Adam - that's a useless start to a thread war, you know we all agree with you. I mean, there's no dispute there really. Ho hum. David - have you worked out how to do the bbq thing yet? Perhaps you should get one person to bring all the food, splitting the costs between everyone. Don't ask me or you'll all be having beanburgers........

Well, I'm used to seeing people post similar things on /. and newsgroups that mean you suddenly get a thread a million posts long... problem is we all know each other here so it won't work, also were all english which means we get sarcasm, something that Americans don't!

I will reply to adams Troll latter, when I have some time and after brewing y argument for a few hours.
As for food, I'm not sure how we will do it, open to suggestions
Thanks

Well first of all we would need a large relational database system with a web based front end to keep track of what food we need and how it should be cooked etc. I suggest we start by looking at using xml for this.... ;-)
Nah the easiest way to do food would be get people to nominate the food master, and get other people to say they are coming and going to bring x, y or z. The most expensive stuff is of course going to be meat and booze so you tell people to bring enough for themselves and a bit extra to share. Then you ask for volunteers to do other things like salads, bread etc.
The best way to do this is also ask which people will be taking part in the bbq, hopefully if all goes to plan then there should be enough for everyone who wants food and just enough extra to go around for newbies.
Also do you actually have the bbq part of the equation, I mean the bit that burns the coal, or indeed enough of them?
All of the method documented above has worked quite well in my experience at all the illegal summer partys I have attended in the past, you don't bring food you get nothing unless you have arranged to pay someone for something they are bringing.
