Hi there all,
I have two (personal) domains coming up for renewal and i would like to get some cheap hosting/mail for them. most importantly will be reliable mail via pop3 (or imap) for me. If you have reccomendations then let me know, also feel free to email if you offer these services.
Also a low low price would be nice, but i would rather spend money on someone who is not going to break my email every other day and go bankrupt....
Suggestions on the back of an email to this list please Adam
Hi,
I'm now using XCalibre (http://www.xcalibre.co.uk) who provide SSH access and SMTP AUTH in addition to the usual stuff. Everything controlled by a web-based control panel and you'll also get webmail for your domain. Access to raw logs, CGI-BIN and PHP 4 as well.
Highly recommended IMHO.
Regards,
Martyn

I might get some flames for this.
I have recently switched to http://www.supanames.co.uk who do a lite and pro package. The lite offers 5 pop3, 35Mb web space, PHP4, CGI, mysql, but they do have a strict policy of not hosting .zip, .exe, .tar.gz, etc files, otherwise excellent for £13.99 per year (min 2 years). What I liked about them was that you can buy small upgrades, e.g. 10Mb diskspace, extra database as you need them.
I've had absolutely no problems with them since I joined in January.
Cheers
David

If you don't need so much luxury, try Freeshell.org. It sounds usable as a hosting provider. They might get teed off if you have huge bandwidth use or use it commercially.
O'course, I haven't tried it yet, since PayPal are so f*g awkward to use.
